COMMON MOTOR WORKS / AN INDEPENDENT IDEA
Built for the life
you actually live.
The workday. The grocery run. The long way home.
Useful vehicles. Fewer complications. More life.
AN OLD FEELING. A FRESH START.
A vehicle should
leave room for life.
Get to work, bring the groceries home, pick up the people you love. That is plenty of purpose for one machine.
A vehicle should leave room in the budget for the rest of your life. The controls should make sense, and you should be able to understand what it takes to keep it running. That is where we are starting.
Get to know our thinking ↗THE FIRST EXPLORATIONS
Good bones.
New possibilities.
Two starting points for the same idea.
Familiar, useful, and worth another chapter.
↗STUDY 001 / THE PICKUP
A good truck. A longer story.
A pickup for workdays, weekend projects, and the trip home.
↗STUDY 002 / THE UTILITY
Room for the way you live.
A classic utility vehicle for the hardware store, the back road, and a full day out.
Vehicle studies explore the direction. Engineering, specifications, compliance, cost, and availability have not been established.

DESIGN YOU CAN FEEL
A little less asking.
A little more driving.
Everyday controls should be right where you expect them.
Inside the idea ↗FROM THE GARAGE, UP.
This starts with
a familiar question.
What if we put the everyday driver back at the center?
Common Motor Works began with the feeling that the useful parts of a vehicle were getting buried under more features, more dependencies, and more cost. We want to explore a better balance, in the open.
It’s an early idea, with real work ahead. The people who drive, maintain, and care about these machines should help shape the conversation.
