THE IDEA BEHIND COMMON MOTOR WORKS
Common Motor Works started with a simple question: why has owning a vehicle become so complicated?
I want to open the hood and know what I am looking at. I want to turn a knob without opening a menu. And I want to keep a vehicle because it does its job and I enjoy driving it.
I want the cost of owning it to leave room for my family, my home, and the next project. A useful vehicle should fit into a life and a budget.
That is where Common Motor Works starts.
Modern vehicles do plenty of things well. I keep coming back to familiar mechanical parts, controls I can find by feel, a comfortable seat, and room to work under the hood.
Classic vehicles already have something people care about: the shape, the view over the hood, and the feeling behind the wheel. I want to keep that and make the changes that help in daily use.
I also want this to be a conversation. If you maintain your own truck, depend on a vehicle for work, or simply wish yours were easier to live with, your perspective matters.
This is still early. We do not have a finished vehicle or a production line. We have an idea worth working on and questions to answer before we promise anything.
Common Motor Works is the place to work through them.
